Hammer’s upcoming ghost story THE WOMAN IN BLACK starring Daniel Radcliffe has a brand new teaser trailer online. And as most good teasers do, it hints and tantalizes without giving any story away. We’re also given a nice taste of the film’s effectively creepy atmosphere.

Based on the book by author Susan Hill, scripted by Jane Goldman (KICK-ASS), and directed by James Watkins (THE DESCENT: PART 2), the film also stars Ciarán Hinds, Janet McTeer, Shaun Dooley, Alisa Khazanova, Sidney Johnston, Alexia Osborne, Mary Stockley, Aoife Doherty, and Paul J. Dove.

THE WOMAN IN BLACK opens October 28th in the UK. No word yet on a North American release.

Synopsis: The story follows a young lawyer, Arthur Kipps (Radcliffe), who is ordered to travel to a remote village and sort out a recently deceased client’s papers. As he works alone in the client’s isolated house, Kipps begins to uncover tragic secrets, his unease growing when he glimpses a mysterious woman dressed only in black. Receiving only silence from the locals, Kipps is forced to uncover the true identity of the Woman in Black on his own, leading to a desperate race against time when he discovers her true intent.
