New trailer drops for FX period drama Taboo from Tom Hardy and Ridley Scott

With Tom Hardy appearing in Christopher Nolan's new war epic DUNKIRK, and Ridley Scott just releasing a trailer for his new ALIEN film ALIEN: COVENANT, these two are on a bit of a roll. Not to mention the last time Hardy took on a period piece it was the Oscar-winning THE REVENANT.

This brings us to the new miniseries from FX TABOO, about "an adventurer who returns to Britain from Africa along with fourteen stolen diamonds to seek vengeance after the death of his father." Sounds a bit cliche, but judging by the previous trailers, there's probably much more to the bare-bones plot (i.e. the amazing visuals and Hardy's mesmerizing performance) to get excited about.

Anyway, a new trailer has just dropped, so let's have a look-see:

Looks like more of the same, though with a bit more trippy imagery, naked Tom Hardy, pig faced people, and some Victorian kung-fu fighting. But that's certainly not a bad thing. I honestly can't wait to see this!

But what about you Schmoes? You excited? If so, why not?

Either way, TABOO will premiere on FX on January 10th, 2017 at 10 pm EST. It will also premiere a few days earlier on BBC One on January 7th.

Extra Tidbit: Tom Hardy almost got the role for Rick Flagg in SUICIDE SQUAD, which would've made him the first actor to cross over from one DC film universe to another (similar to Chris Evans going from Johnny Storm to Captain America). Alas, REVENANT went over-schedule and he had to drop out.
