New trailer for The Punisher season two is a testosterone-fueled bloodbath

Every time the Punisher gets out, they pull him back in!

That seems to be the general idea going into the new season of THE PUNISHER, wherein Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) is trying to escape the horrors of the last season, only to be brought back into the punishing game to help a young woman (Giorgia Whigham). The first trailer is as bloody and brutal as you could want, proving that if this is to be the last season of the show we see for a bit after Netflix drops the ax, the character is going to go out with a bang – and then several more bangs.

As you can see, I was not joking when I said the trailer is as bloody as you would expect. Showing Castle both dishing out and taking some beatings, this second season looks to be as nasty as the last as the character enters a bigger world of crime, now overseen by the returning Billy Russo (Ben Barnes). The trailer is made all the heavier with the inclusion of Alice in Chain’s “Would?”, making it a testosterone-fueled, action-packed preview that will surely get your action cravings dialed to 11.

Here's the synopsis for the second season:

Former marine-turned-vigilante Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) has been living a quiet life on the road until he suddenly becomes embroiled in the attempted murder of a young girl (Giorgia Whigham). As he is drawn into the mystery surrounding her and those in pursuit of the information she holds, Castle attracts a new target on his back as new and old enemies force him to confront whether he should accept his destiny and embrace a life as The Punisher.

THE PUNISHER season two hits Netflix January 18.
