Ninja Turtles live!

If I correctly recall their evolution, the TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES crawled from the toxic ooze to a comic book, videogames, action figures, live-action feature, cartoon series, CG-animation, and now… back to live-action.

As rumored a few times over the years, the pets turned martial artists will once again exist in the flesh (or at least latex or CGI). The project will offer a rebooted origin story of color-coded half-shell heroes Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael (and probably Splinter).

No creative talent is involved yet, but Legendary Pictures chief Scott Mednick also exec produced WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE, which might give some indication as to how the new TMNT movie (planned for 2011) will ultimately blend its elements. Mednick says the movie will utilize “face replacement technology, which would allow the turtles to be much more expressive.”

But the important question is: will any of them be voiced by Corey Feldman?
