No Simpsons 2?

Well, if you weren't interested in the first SIMPSONS movie, then it's likely that you won't have to deal with another.

Creator of the yellow race Matt Groening and writer/producer Al Jean were doing an interview with Morgan Spurlock discussing the future of THE SIMPSONS. Groening had this to say on a sequel, "It took 18 years to get around to doing the movie. We got very frustrated. We thought it would take two years but it ended up taking four. Some day maybe we'll do another one -- but don't hold your breath."

This may be good news for some of you. I got the feeling that overall fans weren't too impressed with the film. It fell a little flat for me, but when you've been trying to create material for over 20 years it's bound to happen. As of late I cannot get back into Springfield, but it's likely to continue until, well, who knows when. Both Groening and Jean talked about their amazement about the series still being on television, "We cannot predict the end because we can't believe we are still here today," says Groening. Jean added, "We are contracted to do two more seasons following this one. I gave up predicting the end a long time ago."

Frankly, I'm also still surprised that it's on the air, but people still really enjoy the show. The guest stars really contribute to the success as well. I think everyone has a little spot in their heart for the dysfunctional family, regardless of whether they enjoyed the movie or not.

Extra Tidbit: Favorite SIMPSONS episode? All the TREEHOUSE OF HORROR ones for me, as well as any episode that Ralph has more than 2 lines.
