Reports are beginning to make the rounds that Warner Bros. is planning to skip their Hall H appearance at this year's San Diego Comic-Con event, despite having films like Todd Phillips' JOKER, Cathy Yan's BIRDS OF PREY (AND THE FANTABULOUS EMANCIPATION OF ONE HARLEY QUINN), and WONDER WOMAN 1984 from director Patty Jenkins coming down the pike.

While this is most definitely unfortunate news, it has been confirmed that director Andy Muschietti will be making his IT: CHAPTER 2 the sinister centerpiece of the New Line-branded ScareDiego event, which is set for Wednesday, July 17. The IT creative will be bringing some new material related to the highly-anticipated sequel to the show, as well as The Loser’s Club cast for a bit of frightful fun with fans of the Stephen King-inspired franchise.

Muschietti announced the film's involvement as part of the third annual ScareDiego festivities this afternoon, alongside a new postcard image that was shared to his personal Instagram account:

Wait a minute … hold up! Isn't this article supposed to be about Wonder Woman? You're damn right it is, but Pennywise told me that if I didn't at least mention his Comic-Con appearance that I'd be floating by the end of the day. Trust me, you do not want to piss that dude off. We've all seen him unhinge that toothy maw of his, and I am not looking to be his next meal. I've been told that I'm very tasty, but I ain't about to go out like that. Not for you, and certainly not for anyone else.

But yes, in addition to the news of Warner's absense from this year's SDCC, WONDER WOMAN 1984 helmer Patty Jenkins posted some gorgeous new art related to her highly-anticipated superhero sequel:

Personally, I love the image, especially since June is Pride Month, and the psychedelic colors in the background of the photo are definitely bringing those rainbow vibes. Also, would you just look at that golden armor? Look at it! I can't help but imagine that we'll get some incredible shots of that outfit in the new film, particularly when the sun hits it just right and that protective casing sings like the hills in Pacha's home village.

Directed by Jenkins from a screenplay she co-wrote with Dave Callaham and Geoff Johns, WONDER WOMAN 1984 will see Gal Gadot reprising her role as Diana Prince of Themyscira, aka Wonder Woman. The warrior princess' next adventure will find her in 1984, with stars Chris Pine, Pedro Pascal, Robin Wright, Connie Neilsen all set to star, with Kristen Wiig arriving as villain Barbara Minerva, aka Cheetah. Wonder Woman alum Lynda Carter is also rumored to play a part in the upcoming film.

Little else is known about the film other than the fact that my body is ready! With any luck, some more details related to the film will crop up closer to the Con, despite Warner's lack of participation at this year's show.

WONDER WOMAN 1984 is set for a June 5, 2020 release. Meanwhile, IT: CHAPTER 2, which stars James McAvoy as Bill, Jessica Chastain as Beverly, Bill Hader as Richie, James Ransone as Eddie, Andy Bean as Stanley, Jay Ryan as Ben and Isaiah Mustafa as Mike, will float in cinemas on September 6th.
