Piglet, Eeyore, and Tigger join Pooh in new Christopher Robin images

Just when you thought Disney's CHRISTOPHER ROBIN couldn't look anymore adorable than it did in the film's debut trailer, Entertainment Weekly has unveiled new images for the upcoming family film that are sure to put a smile on your face. In the first photo, we can see Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, and Tigger lounging on lawn chairs on the beach. Each of them is sporting a pair of their own sunglasses, while looking like they're waiting for Rabbit to come back from a nearby concession stand with snacks. Meanwhile, the second image features Ewan McGregor's grown-up Christopher Robin, navigating a bustling city sidewalk, his childhood friend tucked safely into the crook of his arm.

You can check them both out for yourself below:

CHRISTOPHER ROBIN director Marc Forster (WORLD WAR Z, FINDING NEVERLAND), who revealed to EW that others are capable of seeing Pooh and his friends from the Hundred Acre Wood, explained that they're perceived as stuffed animals. “It’s not that they’re invisible,” he said.

Ewan McGregor also spoke with the entertainment outlet about the deeper emotional and philosophical aspects of the film: “In those older stories, [Christopher Robin] purveys a lot of wisdom through the way he deals with Pooh. Pooh and Eeyore run through a lot of philosophical questions, and Christopher Robin is there to answer them somehow,” McGregor said. “And I think, largely, he’s just lost any of that childish wisdom and he’s a bit stuck. He’s just very work-minded and doesn’t have any time for play. I suppose that’s what the film is about: finding his relationship with his younger self again.”

In the movie, Christopher Robin works as an efficiency manager at a luggage company, who is woefully overworked. He's a kind and generous man, though more times than not, kind-hearteded people are taken advantage of.

“I like that about him, that he is fighting for a greater good, not just for his own ego,” McGregor said of his character. “It made sense, if he’d been through the war experience, he would just have experienced being responsible, literally, for men’s lives. And now he’s come back and he’s responsible for men and women’s livelihoods.”

Playing Christopher Robin's wife, Evelyn, is PEGGY CARTER actress Hayley Atwell. While speaking with EW about her character, Ms. Atwell explained that “She’s worked in schematics. She designed planes. So, she was active in the war in that regard and had her own career,” Atwell said. “This new man that returns from war represents the loss of the man that she married, but she sees him change when Pooh the bear comes back into his life. But, of course, she thinks he’s gone mad.”

CHRISTOPHER ROBIN starring Ewan McGregor, Hayley Atwell, Chris O'Dowd, Toby Jones, Brad Garrett, Peter Capaldi, Jim Cummings, Sophie Okonedo, and Nick Mohammed will arrive to melt your heart in theaters August 3rd.
