Pitt and IMAX Dinosaurs?

Terrence Malick’s TREE OF LIFE is essentially the movie I’m most looking forward to this year, WATCHMEN included. So naturally, when I hear something about IMAX Dinosaurs being in the movie I’m interested. And as such I’m gonna relay the story here, even if I am a little half and half on the accuracy (more on that to follow):

“We’re just starting work on a project for Terrence Malick, animating dinosaurs, the film is The Tree of Life, starring Brad Pitt and Sean Penn. It’ll be showing in IMAX — so the dinosaurs will actually be life size — and the shots of the creatures will be long and lingering.”

The quote allegedly comes from VFX artist Mike Fink, through Empire, but I can’t seem to find it on their site. Elsewhere seems to remember a passage in Malick’s ambitious script Q (which I believe evolved into TREE OF LIFE), where a dinosaur was sleeping and dreaming in a sea of magma, but I was sure it was a minotaur and not a dinosaur.

I guess time will tell. The movie follows the evolution of a young boy called Jack (the adult version of whom is played by Sean Penn) in the Midwest in the 1950s. Brad Pitt plays his father. For the whole synopsis click HERE.
