A few weeks ago we learned that Billy Boyd (aka Pippin) from Peter Jackson’s LOTR franchise would be performing the closing credit song he co-wrote for THE HOBBIT: THE BATTLE OF THE FIVE ARMIES. I’m not sure if he asked for that gig or if it was offered, but that's a pretty great bookend for the series if you ask me. Boyd has a tremendous voice which you heard in LORD OF THE RINGS: THE RETURN OF THE KING; and while his voice won't be paired up with scenes of war like it was during "The Stewart of Gondor", it should still make for a memorable closing.

We have a preview of the song appropriately titled "The Last Goodbye", so take a listen and let us know what you think.

THE HOBBIT: THE BATTLE OF THE FIVE ARMIES arrives in theaters on December 17th, 2015.
