Winter is coming later! Season 7 of Game of Thrones may be pushed to July

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

Like many of you, I am obsessed with GAME OF THRONES. In fact, my family has had multiple parties where we dress up as characters and eat food from George R.R. Martin's official cookbook, A FEAST OF ICE AND FIRE (spoiler alert: it's delicious).

Anyway, you can imagine that I'm jonesin' for my GoT fix. However, it seems Winter is Coming even later as actor Liam Cunningham (Ser Davos, the Onion Knight) might've accidentally spoiled the real release date during an interview for The Independent:

I've been disappointing various people around the world because it was meant to come out in April. It's July now, I think…The bad news is, there will only be seven episodes and the final season starts again as far as I know in September.

So while that is not an official confirmation, it does sound pretty legit (also why would Davos lie? He's honorable as hell!). And even if it's not, April is still pretty far away as well (I want it now, goddammit!) Cunningham also goes on to confirm what we've already known, which is that the final seasons will be truncated in comparison to previous ones.

Frankly, I'm both excited and scared for the final two seasons. Excited because I trust it will be awesome, and scared because I know so many of my favorite characters are going to die, and probably brutally. Even Davos isn't safe (especially after this slip-up).
