THE HITMAN’S BODYGUARD was an unexpected hit in 2017, which meant a new series to lead for stars Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson. After an impressive four-week run in the top spot during a sleepy mid-August/early-September a sequel became a very real possibility, and now Reynolds, Jackson and Salma Hayek are back in character and on set for some bloody hijinks and have taken to Instagram to share their return with the world.

Both Reynolds and Jackson shared photos on their accounts from the set of the new movie, THE HITMAN’S WIFE’S BODYGUARD, with the former posting a pic of the three for a selfie. The other two look dapper and ready to go, while Reynolds must have been shaking a ketchup bottle way too hard. Use a spoon next time, guy!

“Two Guys, A Girl and—OH MY GOD WHAT THE FUCK?” Reynolds wrote. “Here we go again… #HitmansWifesBodyguard.”

His picture is followed by Jackson posting one of himself in makeup, getting his character's tattoos put on his head and arms. These are actually some pretty sick tattoos, and I think Jackson should consider making them a permanent addition. In the caption, he wrote, “Heeeeee’s Baaaaaaack! Darius Kincaid in all his Profanely Lethal Glory!!”

The original movie was expected to make a fair amount at the box office, but it went on to make $75 million domestically and $175 million around the world, all off a $30 million budget. It’s impressive run at the top of the box office was undone by the release of the horror behemoth IT, which itself is getting a sequel this September. BODYGUARD 2 doesn’t have an exact release date yet, but given how successful the first was in its frame it’s likely a similar release is in the cards.

Patrick Hughes returns to direct with a script from Brandon and Phillip Murphy, and this time around the main trio will be joined by Frank Grillo and Morgan Freeman.
