Robert De Niro and Diane Keaton join Gently Down the Stream

While Robert De Niro and Diane Keaton have shared screentime, they have never played a couple. In GENTLY DOWN THE STREAM, they will get the chance.

Well, they'll sort of be a couple. Here's the premise: "De Niro and Keaton play a long-divorced couple who for the sake of their adopted son's wedding and his biological mother, pretend they are still married. They quickly learn that acting the part isn't easy, especially when their past, present, and future unravel for all to see." Amanda Seyfried and Katherine Heigl will co-star in the indie comedy.

Justin Zackham (THE BUCKET LIST) will write and direct. He had this to say on the project, "I'm excited to be able to continue what we started with on 'The Bucket List' -- iconic actors in a funny, adult, character-driven story, albeit with a little more sex and bad behavior on everyone's part. I'm honored to have such an amazing cast."

Producer on the project, Avi Lerner added, "Working with Diane and De Niro again will be great. Katherine and Amanda are young talented actors. It is good casting. Justin's script is well written, and he is the right choice to direct. It is going to be a warmhearted, funny film."

Production will start this July in July in Greenwich, Connecticut.

Extra Tidbit: De Niro and Keaton were in MARVIN'S ROOM together. I went to see that at the movies with my Dad. We were the only ones there aside from an elderly couple in the front row.
