Robert Rodriguez lets everyone know what happened to that missing trailer shot from Predators

For those you who saw PREDATORS over the weekend, you may have noticed something was missing.

One shot from the trailer was not included in the final product. Towards the end of the trailer, we see a slightly stunned Adrien Brody being targeted by several Predator laser sights. While some of you may not see it as a huge catastrophe, it actually sparked a wee bit of anger/sadness/depression amongst those who saw the film in the theaters. Why? To some this was the shot that caused many to raise up their hands and say, “F*ck yeah! Predators looks awesome!” You were left wondering, how the f*ck is Brody getting out of this one?

For those of you who don’t like watch anything branded with the MTV logo, Rodriguez explains that the shot would “crystallize the idea” of a human being stalked by Predators, so that’s why it was filmed exclusively for the trailer. This isn’t the first time a movie has left a scene out that came from a trailer. Rodriguez is one of those that has done this sort of thing before, “You don’t want people to always know. A lot of my movies have trailer shots that I shoot just for the trailer, so that people haven’t seen the movie already but they get the feeling of what it’s supposed to represent.” He adds that their is a scene that in the film that does deliver multiple lasers.

Rodriguez concluded with this, “It’s kind of a good twist to do that. If you go and you think that’s what it’s going to be, and then it’s not that and it ends up happening in another place in the movie.”
