Like Bonnie Tyler, I’ve been holding out for a hero. Oh, The Rock… have you heard our pleas? Are you returning the funny bone to your arm, and focusing on compound fractures and scuffed knuckles?
Damn right. Dwayne “Ex-The Rock” Johnson is getting fired up to go FASTER, a straight-up action-drama about “an ex-con bent on avenging the death of his brother, who was murdered 10 years earlier when the two were double-crossed during a heist.” Whether that vengeance will come in moderated PG-13 format or bone-snapping bullet-riddled R-rated flavor remains to be seen.
George Tillman Jr. (MEN OF HONOR, NOTORIOUS) is now directing Dwayne’s payback — Johnson’s GRIDIRON GANG guy Phil Joanou was originally attached. The movie will start production in January after Johnson finishes his latest comedy THE OTHER GUYS, with Sam Jackson, Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg.
