Ryan Reynolds set to star in Michael Bay directed Six Underground feature

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Netflix has announced that they'll be entering into what is being hailed as their biggest budget feature project to date, when they team up with Skydance Media for an upcoming action thriller entitled SIX UNDERGROUND. Directed by Michael Bay and written by writers and executive producers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick of DEADPOOL 2 fame, the original motion picture will star Ryan Reynolds, who right now is enjoying quite the windfall from his latest turn as Marvel's Merc with a Mouth, Deadpool. Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Don Granger will produce along with Bay.

The collaboration marks the first time that Skydance Media and Netflix are joining forces for an "event level" feature, as well as Bay and Reynold's Netflix Original debut. It's also to be noted that SIX UNDERGROUND is yet another move by Netflix to remain a top competitor for original, high-profile content on a streaming network.

No plot details surrounding the film have been revealed at this time, though I'm certain that a synopsis or brief description will arrive soon. With a script writen by both Wernick and Reese, and direction by You-Can-Never-Have-Too-Many-Explosions Bay, there's no telling how off-the-wall this project will get. Be sure to stay close as news surrounding this project develops.

Meanwhile, DEADPOOL 2 starring Ryan Reynolds is in theaters now.
