SeaQuest DSV (Roy Scheider & Jonathan Brandis) – Gone But Not Forgotten

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

On this episode of Gone But Not Forgotten, we're gonna take you back to the year 1993, when NBC launched one of the priciest, most anticipated shows of the decade – SeaQuest DSV. Executive produced by Steven Spielberg, the show starred none other than Roy Scheider as Captain Nathan Bridger, who takes over the futuristic submarine of the title to roam earth's oceans in the far-out futuristic year of 2018, when the Ocean Floor has been colonized!

Dismissed by many as a Star Trek – The Next Generation clone, SeaQuest nonetheless found a major cult following and was popular enough to run for three seasons, despite being scheduled against Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, and a whole bunch of cast changes. Join us as we examine the show's legacy, as well as the tragic story of teen heartthrob co-star Jonathan Brandis, who rose to fame as a member of the cast but struggled in the years following the show's cancellation.
