Second explosive trailer for Rockstar’s Max Payne 3

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

It’s a slow news day in filmland, but for games it’s another story.

Rockstar Games just released a second trailer for “Max Payne 3”, once again proving that no one knows how to cut a trailer like the studio behind “Grand Theft Auto” and “Red Dead Redemption”.

In the game we are reunited with Max Payne eight years after leaving New York behind, and see him working private security for a wealthy family in Sao Paulo, Brazil. This is an older, balder, and more hard-edged Payne, a man crushed and lonely and addicted to drinking and popping painkillers. After the head of the family’s wife is kidnapped by a local gang Payne gets involved with all sorts of shootouts galore.

Actor James McCaffrey will reprise his role, voicing the character and doing motion capture for all the cutscenes and character’s movements. The action will stay the same but be even more improved, expanding on the popular “bullet time” slow motion gunplay.

“Max Payne 3” hits stores May 15th. For more on the game check out our preview from the New York Comic Con!
