See Ronda Rousey become Sonya Blade for Mortal Kombat 11 + gameplay footage

MORTAL KOMBAT!

I still remember the old days of piling on my brother's bed with with a gaggle of friends rotating in and out to best each other in Mortal Kombat on the Sega Genesis, battling on a TV that would be embarrassingly small by today's standards. It was some of the most heated and intense gameplay of my life and caused many an actual fight (minus the fatalities) when getting "finished" by an opponent. Ah, good times. But, the good times didn't stop there and Mortal Kombat has gone on to inspire generation after generation in blood-soaked martial arts and sorcery that leaves them in all manner of gore-soaked digital death and riding high on that "killer" elation. Just don't let Gillette know you're enjoying the game.

The latest entry in the series, Mortal Kombat 11, from NetherRealm Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is set to kick the shit out of your console this April and it's bringing all kinds of cool suprises, least of which comes in the form of Ronda Rousey, former MMA fighter and current WWE wrestler. Rousey is lending her voice to one of the original female characters of the game, Sonya Blade, where she'll even drop one of her signature catchphrases. Rousey shared her excitement for the project on her website, which you can check out below. In addition, you can check out all the Mortal Kombat 11 gameplay and fatalities videos compiled into one video. So, if you're feeling like watching some Mortal Kombat goods, then "GET OVER HERE!"

Sorry. I couldn't help myself. I didn't even try.

Mortal Kombat 11 hits Nintendo Switch, Microsoft Windows, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on April 23, 2019.
