Seth Rogen, Ben Schwartz & director Adam McKay teaming up for new comedy

It's been announced Seth Rogen will star in a new comedy for director Adam McKay, based on a pitch from writer/actor Ben Schwartz (Parks and Recreations, House of Lies). Schwartz will also write the script and co-star in the film. The project will be produced by Good Universe, Rogen and Evan Goldberg's Point Grey Pictures, and McKay's Gary Sanchez Productions.

Adam McKay, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg on the new movie:

“Evan and Seth have been doing amazing things and we’re so excited to work with them.  Ben, not so much.  Most of my problems with him are personal ones, but I have to give it up…he did come up with a great idea,” said McKay.

“Every two thousand years the planets of our galaxy align in a perfect line that funnels the cosmic energies of the universe to flow into one perfect comedic collaboration. The time is now. This is that project. Nothing will ever be the same,” said Rogen with Goldberg adding, “McKay and Schwartz are reeeeeeal smart, well-endowed guys and we couldn't be more excited to be working with them.”

Pretty funny stuff for a press release. Ben Schwartz previously worked with Adam McKay on THE OTHER GUYS, and he will appear in the upcoming Seth Rogen film THE INTERVIEW. I'm a big fan of all three, and am very excited to learn more about their new film.

Seth Rogen and Ben Schwartz's THE INTERVIEW will open on December 25, 2014.
