Shia drops Last Man

Back around the time when EAGLE EYE was getting the big promo push, the hot rumor was that director DJ Caruso and Shia LaBeouf would reteam for an adaptation of the comic series “Y: The Last Man.” Now, as TRANSFORMERS: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN is getting the big promo push, LaBeouf says it ain’t happenin’.

In an interview with Wizard Magazine (via Coming Soon), LaBeouf says that the character of Yorick in LAST MAN is a little too similar to what he’s doing in TRANSFORMERS. “You take Sam and you put a monkey on his shoulder…It seems like he’s the ordinary guy in an extraordinary situation again.” Shia says he’s “not willing” to make the movie as it currently stands and that by the time the script went through the necessary revisions, he’d be “too old to play the role.”

Another day, another rumor busted! LaBeouf is set to star next alongside Michael Douglas and Javier Bardem in the sequel to Oliver Stone’s WALL STREET. And if not Shia in LAST MAN then who? Zac Efron?
