Show Us Your Shit #34

This latest column on the DVD CLINIC asks
YOU to be participate and yes, ladies and germs….SHOW US YOUR
SHIT!!
If you’ve got a cool collection of DVDs, movie posters, toys, comic books, figurines, an awesome home theater set-up that you just have to share with the rest of the world of movie nerds who reside on this very site, this column is for you! Just read the requirements below and drop us a line at [email protected] with pics, videos and commentary about your nifty stuff and your collection might be the next one up here.

REQUIREMENTS:

1) Please include any basic personal info on yourself, so others could know who the f*ck you are. Age, sex, geographical location, what you do in life, etc….

2) Take some pictures or videos of any cool shit you have in your pad, and send it along with your message to us. Make sure that every picture/video is explained and you don’t just send us a bunch of pics and say “Here’s my shit!”, cause that’s not what we’re looking for. We need some words attached to the pics, what they are, where you might’ve got it, shit like that.

3) Try and zone in on a couple of your FAVORITE AND UNIQUE ITEMS and point those out as well. If possible, let our readers know WHERE you might’ve bought them, etc…

Age: 18

Job: Student

Hi my fellow schmoes ! I’m Guillaume (or Big G), I’m 18, I’m French (but I study in the UK at the moment) and I’m a dude (or a duderino, if that’s the way you like it).
Being a student, I can’t afford a very macho TV set (so I’ve got an old 25 inch SONY TV set with the cheapest DVD player around…). By the way, am I the only person that is afraid that the content of my DVDs will kind of disappear (or demagnetize itself…) after 15 years or so ? That’s a lotta money thrown outta the window… I’ve got a little studio (18 square meters) and I’ve tried to pack as much cool stuff as I could inside. So here we go.

All right, so first of all many thanks to JoBlo and JoBlo.com for this great Jack Skellington bust that was the best Christmas present I got this year ! (Along with the Wall-E mug, which unintentionally appeared in the pic)

I own about 600 DVDs (paid for by giving Maths lessons – neeeeerd). This summer I built for 30 bucks this cool shelf that goes all around my room and is designed with exactly the correct amount of space to fit my Scorsese, Tarantino, Burton, Coen, Bond, Horror, Kids and Comedy DVD collections. The rest of them just hang around alphabetically in there. Check out the cool Kill Bill-like swords and the Neo bust in the bottom right hand corner.

I was lucky enough to see Alan Moore and Jodie Foster at the premieres of V for Vendetta and Flightplan (…) respectively and they were cool enough to give out some autographs !

R2 puzzle…Nuff’ said !

I really like to read as much movies-related stuff as possible and some of the best reads I’ve got at home are the french “Histoire Générale du Cinéma” in 6 volumes !!! which covers the history of the birth of cinema ’til the mid-forties. And “Ten Bad Dates With De Niro” is essentially a collection of hilarious Ten Spots. I recommend it vividly !

I managed to blend my phone thing into the Hot Fuzz poster… sweet. In the mirror you can see the door of the toilets. Yes it is! (My parents have got similar “Finding Nemo” toilets. They rock).
