Show Us Your Shit #39

If you’ve got a cool collection of DVDs, movie posters, toys, comic books, figurines, an awesome home theater set-up that you just have to share with the rest of the world of movie nerds who reside on this very site, then drop us a line at [email protected] with pics, videos and commentary about your nifty stuff and your collection might be the next one up here.

REQUIREMENTS:

Please include any basic personal info on yourself, so others know who you are. Age, sex, geographical location, what you do in life, etc….

Take some pictures or videos of any cool shit you have in your pad, and send it along with your message to us. Make sure that every picture/video is explained and you don’t just send us a bunch of pics and say “Here’s my shit!”, cause that’s not what we’re looking for. We need some words attached to the pics, what they are, where you might’ve got it, shit like that.

Try and zone in on a couple of your FAVORITE AND UNIQUE ITEMS and point those out as well. If possible, let our readers know WHERE you might’ve bought them, etc…

Alright, here goes. My name is Marcus. I am comedian and a movie fanatic, and as far back as I can remember, I always wanted my own theatre room. Well, this past year I was finally able to put together the room of my dreams, and here it is….

This is in the basement of my house. I choose the basement because there is very little natural light down here, so even in at high noon, it can be pitch black down there.

We put in a 60″ Samsung HD TV, as well as 5.1 Sony Surround Sound System and Sony Blu-Ray player. We also installed dimmer lights, so that we can adjust the lighting depending on the film! The system is framed by movie posters including a Transformers poster signed by Optimus Prime himself, Peter Cullen!

I have been collecting DVDs for years, buying my first, a bare bones Fifth Element disc that cost $40, back in 1998 when they first became available. Over the past decade, I have amassed a collection of somewhere over 2000 discs.

Over the past year, I have been focusing on building my Blu-Ray collection, which is now over 100 titles strong. The shelves wrap around the room and the tops, as well as the walls, are covered with a whole bunch of different items I have collected over the years. Some of my favorites include –

My Autographed Kevin Smith action figure that I got when I visited Jay and Silent Bob’s Secret Stash in Red Bank, New Jersey!

My Necronomicon replica…or is it real?!?!

My Labyrinth Goblin King 2 pack that comes complete with Hoggle and Bowie’s Giant package as accessories!!!

…and much, much more!!!

In this corner, I have created my Nerd Corner! It goes through different themes. Right now, it has been taken over by the Watchmen!

I collected all the action figures, as well as all the variants…

I also picked up a couple of the limited edition prop replicas; the Rorschach Mask and Grappling Gun and the Comedian’s Gun and Dog Tags.

This corner is also home to my Old School Shelf. This is where I keep my collection of original Star Wars toys from my youth…

…as well as my classic Thundercats toys!!!

The wall in this section is covered with some of the unopened Star Wars prequel toys I picked up…. don’t you judge me.

All in all, this room is built for comfort. It may not be as impressive as some collections, but it is my favorite place to relax and be surrounded by the people, and stuff, that I love.
