Sitges 2005 cap-off!

JOBLO.COM/AITH DO SITGES
2005!

Hey fellow neck-snappers, Arrow
here! Although the SITGES
FILM FESTIVAL
has come to an end, it will live on through JOBLO/AITH
for the following weeks as Sitges horror reviews will keep popping up on the
site. I had the time of my life down here and then some!

I was lucky enough, first and
foremost, to see a bunch of groovy
genre films (with Hostel, A History of Violence, A Bittersweet Life, Serenity, Reeker and The Dark being my favorites). There
were a lot of interesting entries this year and even the bad ones (like The
Nun
) were somewhat fun to watch.

Furthermore, I couldn’t get enough of
the
breathtaking sights (what a gorgeous city), the hypnotizing ocean and catching
up with acquaintances/good friends.

Sure, random snags came up; like
the food not agreeing with me, the endless line-ups (even for press), the nude
beach filled with fat dudes with tiny ding-dongs flapping around (Where were the
fine honeys at?) and I was
personally disappointed to see that not ONE full-on horror movie won any of the
big Sitges Awards (That’s the high brow Jury’s fault…grrrr!), but on the whole, the
good easily made up for the bad.

I found JAWS on my day off and took care of that…old school!

I’d like to thank EVERYBODY
involved
with Sitges 2005 for being super kool and mostly on the ball and am already looking forward to next year’s event. In all honesty, of all the Festivals
I’ve
been to (that includes Cannes and Fantasia); Sitges was my favorite in terms of
the fine folks I was surrounded by, the awe-inspiring setting and the overall experience.

Going to buy myself a life in town!

Me and the "Star" Sitges Festival banner. I am not worthy…yet!

The ocean…can never get enough of it…my religion man!

So here’s the lowdown in terms of
where I’m at with my Sitges reviews. And scroll down lower to see a couple of
pictures from
my eventful trip!

In closing (I’m going to

parties I attended and the groovy genre stars with whom I hung out; my fav moments of
this trip were me sitting on a rock alone, overlooking the ocean, water
splashing on me every time a waved crashed in, "30 Seconds to Mars"
on my IPOD, Lucky Strike cigarette in my mouth and White Rum in
my Coke bottle. Those moments were priceless. Arrow out of here!
