South Park renewed through 20th season

Fans of Trey Parker and Matt Stone's "South Park" will be pleased to hear that the show has been extended for three additional seasons. Tonight sees the finale of the 15th season and this new deal means that the show will see original episodes all the way through 2016 and its milestone 20th season. It's already the longest-running animated series on cable, and this will push it way past what anyone thought was possible.

Seriously- did anyone think a cartoon about a bunch of foul-mouthed kids would have this much staying power when it hit in 1997? But they moved past shock humor and managed to carve their own niche and unlike a certain other animated show that ran its course years ago (yet refuses to die), "South Park" is still pumping out incredibly witty satire week after week.

"COMEDY CENTRAL has been our home for 15 years and we love working there," said Parker and Stone in a brief press release. "'South Park' is a blast and we can't wait to make more."

If you've been missing this excellent season, don't forget that you can watch them online at South Park Studios.
