Spiral: From the Book of Saw trailer: A horrific new game is in store

The game is set to begin again as a new trailer for Spiral: From the Book of Saw has been released. While a cast led by Chris Rock is all new, it appears that Jigsaw or someone associated with him is up to their old tricks.

Spiral: From the Book of Saw is a re-imagining of the Saw franchise & in the movie, police are tracking a serial killer who is targeting cops and seems to be replicating murders from the past. Chris Rock takes the lead in the film and even conceived the story for the project as a huge fan of the original franchise. He is joined by co-stars Samuel L. Jackson, Marisol Nichols, Zoie Palmer, and Max Minghella. 

Darren Lynn Bousman, who directed Saw II, Saw III, and Saw IV, is at the helm of this latest effort while Josh Stolberg and Peter Goldfinger took on screenplay duties. The official logline, via Lionsgate, reads as follows:

"A sadistic mastermind unleashes a twisted form of justice in Spiral, the terrifying new chapter from the book of SAW. Working in the shadow of an esteemed police veteran (Jackson), brash Detective Ezekiel "Zeke" Banks (Rock) and his rookie partner (Minghella) take charge of a grisly investigation into murders that are eerily reminiscent of the city's gruesome past. Unwittingly entrapped in a deepening mystery, Zeke finds himself at the center of the killer's morbid game."

Did YOU like the trailer? After a series of delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Spiral: From the Book of Saw is now scheduled to hit screens on May 14, 2021.
