Starz releases new stills from Bryan Fuller's American Gods adaptation

AMERICAN GODS is a seminal 2001 fantasy novel from prolific writer Neil Gaiman. It's about the Old Gods of ancient mythology (Odin, Anubis, Ēostre) facing off in a war against a pantheon of new Gods based around worshipping things like the Internet, Media, Drugs, etc. Its protagonist, Shadow Moon, is a human ex-con who becomes unwillingly entangled in their war.

The novel had some amazing images and set-pieces in it, so it'll be exciting to see how Bryan Fuller and his team pull them off in their STARZ television adaptation. We now even have some stills from the production to whet our appetites:

They look good to me! However, with PUSHING DAISIES and HANNIBAL under Fuller's belt, it's not surprising these look visually arresting. And with Ian McShane, Crispin Glover, Gillian Anderson, and Orlando Jones rounding out the cast, it should be well-acted as well. I, for one, am hoping for the best.

Meanwhile, AMERICAN GODS will premiere on STARZ April 30th, 2017.

Extra Tidbit: I just hope they have the effects budget for that final battle at the end.
