Steve Carell steps in to replace Bruce Willis in Woody Allen’s latest film

It was just four days ago when Deadline revealed that Bruce Willis had exited the cast of Woody Allen's latest film. Willis was one of the first actors to be cast but unfortunately he was set to star in a Broadway adaptation of Stephen King's "Misery" and couldn't make the scheduling work. As the film is already in production, finding an actor to replace Bruce Willis was a top priority and now Deadline reports that Steve Carell will be stepping in to fill Willis' role.

Carell has previously worked with Woody Allen before on MELINDA AND MELINDA back in 2004, so it's not like he'll be entering unfamiliar territory. Allen's new film, of which we don't know a heck of a lot about, also stars Jesse Eisenberg, Kristen Stewart, Blake Lively, Parker Posey, Corey Stoll, Ken Stott, Tony Sirico, and Anna Camp. Shooting will continue in Los Angeles before moving on to New York.

Woody Allen's latest, IRRATIONAL MAN, was released on July 17, 2015 and his new film, which is untitled, will be released in 2016.
