Superman to appear in first two episodes of CW’s Supergirl season two

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

With all of DC's TV shows including a broader catalogue of characters in their shows, it seemed only a matter of time before Supergirl made the leap as well…in a single bound! Sorry. Couldn't help myself. Yes, with the popular show switching networks to the CW and already logging a crossover with The Flash, season two of Supergirl will introduce none other than the Son of Krypton himself…Superman. Supes will appear in the first two episodes of season two as both Superman and his alter ego, Clark Kent, to help out his cousin, Kara Zor-El aka Supergirl, as played by Melissa Benoist.

Supergirl's executive producer, Andrew Kreisberg had this to say in the announcement:

"Greg, Ali and I are beyond thrilled to welcome Clark Kent and his slightly-more-famous alter ego to the world of Supergirl. Superman will be appearing in the first two episodes of the new season and we cannot wait to see who next dons the red cape!"

So, now the fervor over just who should play Superman in the series begins. Casting is still "underway" apparently, but fans have already taken to the InstaGoogleTweetFaceSpace with calls to resurrect previous "Superman" Brandon Routh and Tom Welling. It's highly unlikely we'll see Henry Cavill show up as the DCEU version, seeing as they have worked hard to keep the TV and Movie universes separate. Personally, I think they'll cast someone new that hovers in their late 20's to early 30's. I would be shocked if any of the prior actors who donned the cape showed up (what, no one wants Dean Cain back?), but hey, it wouldn't be the first or last time I've been shocked by a casting decision.

So, let's hear it. Who do YOU think should play the Blue Boy Scout in Supergirl Season 2?
