Tarantino's Bastards

Filmmaker Quentin Tarantino is probably almost as well known for his notorious lip-flapping and procrastination as he is for memorable movie dialogue and implausible scenarios. So until we're sitting in the theater watching his latest film actually unspool, we have to assume that whenever he's bumping his gums about upcoming projects, it's just all the ideas that can't fit in his hefty melon are slipping out of his mouth.

QT is once again discussing INGLORIOUS BASTARDS, his long-planned WWII "guys on a mission" flick that he's pecked at and/or discussed for over a decade. Now he plans to revisit it while on the road promoting GRINDHOUSE's global release. "I haven’t really done it in a big way in a long time where you spend six months doing it," he says. "But I also like writing on the road, it’s a really good time to do that so I will probably finish up INGLORIOUS BASTARDS while I am promoting GRINDHOUSE."

The DIRTY DOZEN-style movie (named after an Italian action cheapie with Bo Svenson and Fred 'The Hammer' Williamson, who appeared in KILL BILL and FROM DUSK TIL DAWN respectively) has been rumored at 600+ pages already, with former QT actors and other A-listers and back-rack veterans linked to possible roles. But then, he's also mentioned interest in making a western, a giallo, a Vega brothers follow-up, a kung fu flick, animated KILL BILL prequels, KILL BILL vol. 3, and more GRINDHOUSE movies. So I guess we'll have to hope he's still making movies when he hits Clint Eastwood's age.
Extra Tidbit: The original INGLORIOUS BASTARDS is alternately known as THE DEADLY MISSION, HELL'S HEROES, COUNTERFEIT COMMANDOS and G.I. BRO.
