Teenage Lara Croft?

It’s common knowledge that a TOMB RAIDER reboot is in the works, but we’re still pretty unclear what direction the franchise will be taking. At the TERMINATOR SALVATION premiere, producer Dan Lin helped shed some light on what we might expect, most notably that the film will in fact be a prequel.

It’s a great origin story that we’re going to tell. A very character-oriented story. I would say more realistic than the past Lara Croft movies…I would say it’s like Terminator – character-driven action. I think for me the Lara Croft games and movies have gone a little too action-oriented. I wanted to have action, but with character.

Apparently Megan Fox was a name being tossed around as Angelina’s replacement, a seemingly ideal choice, especially if the new film will take place before the original. I’m all for them exploring the Lara Croft origin story, especially if that means a pretty young thing in Lara’s iconic get-up. If however, it means that we won’t get to see Lara in those shorts, that top, then I say death to Dan Lin. Or just maybe a kick in the pants.
