The adventure is more epic than ever in new Frozen 2 trailer

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Disney has already had what some people would call a “solid” year, but they still have a few more months left to dominate and one movie that is sure to do so is the animated sequel FROZEN 2. Coming off the still shocking success of the original – which made $1.2 billion worldwide and won two Oscars – the sequel finds the ice-powered queen Elsa (Idina Menzel) going on a dangerous quest alongside sister Anna (Kristen Bell), Kristoff (Jonathan Groff), Olaf (Josh Gad) and reindeer Sven. The new trailer shows off the sheer epicness of said quest fit with some trolls, rock monsters and more of that water horse.

Previous trailers hadn’t really dug into the meat of the story before, but here we learn about a secret village the girls learn about from their father as young kids and must venture to it in order to save the kingdom of Arendelle from…something. The sequel certainly looks more adventurous and larger in scope, with some improved animation and visuals providing a wider spectrum of colors and lighting to the impressive scenery. But, much to the dismay of die-hard FROZEN fans, there’s still not a big emphasis on the movie’s new original music, which Disney is likely to hold out on for a bit longer until they can unleash it onto airwaves and streaming like “Let it Go.”

The sequel also features the voices of Santino Fontana,  Evan Rachel Wood as Elsa and Anna's mother and Sterling K. Brown as Lt. Destin Mattias, whom we get to hear some of in this trailer. Directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee, the latter writing the script with Allison SchroederFROZEN 2 is in theaters November 22.
