I haven’t gotten into Netflix yet, or any other methods of watching movies at home, but I’ve watched many downloaded films at home (my father’s doing, not mine) and truth be told, I can’t remember the last time I went out and rented a movie. And that used to be something I did at least once a week. In fact, it used to be one of my favourite activities before I discovered alcohol (or rather, what being drunk is like). There’s no doubt that video stores are in serious shit, as are record stores, and bookstores, and any other store that isn’t the internet. In a pitch-perfect spoof, the Harvard grads over at The Onion have made a mock news report about how renting is just oh so out of style. Check it out BELOW.
