The Crown: Season 4 trailer teases a dark and historic fairytale wedding

Princess Diana (Emma Corrin) and Prince Charles (Josh O’Connor) step into the limelight in The Crown: Season 4 trailer, which offers fans a front-row seat for one of history's most iconic fairytale weddings ever. The trailer also offers a look at Gillian Anderson's Margaret Thatcher, otherwise known as the "Iron Lady," and Leader of the Conservative Party from 1975-1990. The upcoming season looks to bring about plenty of tension as it chronicles Charles' courting of a young Lady Diana Spencer, who stands to inherit much on her walk down the aisle.

The Crown, Season 4, Princess Diana Spencer

An official description for Season 4, per Netflix, reads:

As the 1970s are drawing to a close, Queen Elizabeth and her family find themselves preoccupied with safeguarding the line of succession by securing an appropriate bride for Prince Charles, who is still unmarried at 30. As the nation begins to feel the impact of divisive policies introduced by Britain's first female Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher tensions arise between her and the Queen which only grow worse as Thatcher leads the country into the Falklands War, generating conflict within the Commonwealth. While Charles’ romance with a young Lady Diana Spencer provides a much-needed fairytale to unite the British people, behind closed doors, the Royal family is becoming increasingly divided.

Written by Peter Morgan and taking place between the years 1979-1990, Season 4 of The Crown will consist of 10 episodes. Starring in the upcoming season are Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth II, Tobias Menzies as Prince Philip, Helena Bonham Carter as Princess Margaret, Gillian Anderson as Margaret Thatcher, Erin Doherty as Princess Anne, Josh O’Connor as Prince Charles, Marion Bailey as The Queen Mother, and Emma Corrin as Diana Spencer.

Executive producing are Peter Morgan, Stephen Daldry, Andy Harries, Suzanne Mackie, Benjamin Caron, Robert Fox, and Matthew Byam Shaw, for a season that is sure to present the lead-up to a world-famous union as you've never seen.

The Crown: Season 4 will premiere on Netflix on November 15, 2020.
