The Dark Knight Rises will "Summer" in Pittsburgh

Do you live in Pittsburgh? Do you love Batman? If you said yes to both of these questions then you are in luck.

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES is gearing up to start shooting this Summer in Pittsburgh. Nolan told the Pittsburgh Post Gazette this, "Pittsburgh is a beautiful city. We have been able to find everything we were looking for here, and I am excited to spend the summer in Pittsburgh with our final installment of Batman." I myself have never Pennsylvania, but I've heard it's actually quite nice.

Dawn Keezer, director of the Pittsburgh Film Office, said the Warner Bros. production could be there for four to six weeks shooting in Downtown and nearby. Keezer gave one of the reasons the town was chosen, "They're still nailing down actual locations but what they really fell in love with was the diversity of architecture and the gorgeous buildings that we still have in Downtown Pittsburgh and the surrounding areas."

It might be brief news, but it's the most solid news we've gotten from the project in awhile now. For those of you looking to be extras, Ms. Keezer mentioned that it was too early to know how many local cast or crew might be hired or what the demand might be.

Extra Tidbit: Was a movie ever filmed in your town? If so, what movie and did you get to see anything cool? The only visitor we had to our small as town was McGruff the crime dog. Sigh.
