Steve Rogers/Captain America (Chris Evans) passed on his shield and picked up his retirement plan in AVENGERS: ENDGAME, and in the new Disney+ series, THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER, his legacy will be carried on by the two title stars. While Sam Wilson/Falcon (Anthony Mackie) was given the shield and, therefore, the mantle in ENDGAME, it’s Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) who gets the most notable makeover come the new series, and the new poster puts his new look front and center.

We first met Bucky as the charming ladies’ man and best friend to Rogers in CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER, sporting a short, slick haircut that juxtaposed the longer cut of his future, mind-warped assassin self in recent movies. But now with the series coming out, Bucky needs to take on a new identity, and with that comes the chopping off of his glorious locks.

You can take a look at the clean-cut Bucky via the posters they gave out at D23 this weekend!

As far as haircuts go, this one ain't too shabby. At the end of the day, it's all about him trying to start a new chapter of his life wherein he sheds his more recent past and takes on the mantle of a true hero. In doing so, he looks much more like the man we met in THE FIRST AVENGER, and even comes out looking like Rogers himself.

Details are still a bit sparse on the new series, but we do know it should start shooting in October and is slated for release next year, with Kari Skogland directing the six-episode series. Attached to co-star with the leading duo are returning stars Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter and Daniel Bruhl as Helmet Zemo, with Wyatt Russell joining the MCU as John Walker.

THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER is set for Fall 2020.
