The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard: What did you think?

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

After a good year of delays The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard, the sequel to the unexpectedly successful Hitman's Bodyguard has hit theaters. Suffice to say, I didn't care for it despite being a major fan of the three leads – Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L. Jackson, and Salma Hayek. To me, the fact that they changed an exciting action-comedy franchise into an all-out wacky romp that makes the Police Academy series like Training Day was a major misstep. I gave it one of the worst reviews I've given to a new movie in a while (what can I say, the new job and the pandemic have mellowed me), and I recommend folks skip it and save their trip to the theaters for Fast 9 next week. Or – just go back and watch A Quiet Place 2 again.

The folks on Rotten Tomatoes seemed to agree with me, giving it a lousy 25%. But, as I say every week, what I think doesn't really matter. Instead, we're turning it over our readers! Did you all enjoy The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard, or do you agree with me and think it was wildly over the top and kinda dumb. Talkback below!
