The JoBlo Sunday Night Movie Chat: The Goonies

Update: Due to technical problems beyond anyone’s control, the chat was down last weekend. I’m happy to say that we kicked the problem’s ass and will hold our chat for The Goonies this weekend.

Last week we discussed one of the biggest(and best, if you ask me) movies of the year so far and it was a fantastic time. Well, this week we are switching it up and going back to a childhood classic. The movie for this Sunday’s chat is simply one of the most beloved adventures of the 1980’s. It’s time to revist Chunk, Data and the rest of the gang in The Goonies!

For the past year and a half, yours truly has been hosting The JoBlo Sunday Night Movie Chat every Sunday night at 7pm EST. We’ve chatted about all kinds of awesome flicks. Movies like Jurassic Park, Super 8, Gremlins and Wreck-It Ralph have all been topics for the chat. It’s the best place on the internet to get together in a fun and friendly atmosphere to talk about the movies we love.

All you need to do is head to OUR CHATROOM at 7pm EST and make sure to log in with your MFC username and password. You are encouraged to bring up comments or questions about the movie at hand, or feel free to just hang out and and see what everyone else is chatting about. The regulars are extremely friendly people that will definitely make you feel welcome. And believe me, they are very, very cool schmoes.

And please remember this. Be respectful of others and their opinions during the chat. It’s great to have multiple opinions of movies in the chat. I love that. What I don’t love is for people to be insulted or badmouthed about their opinions. Directly insulting someone and/or trolling people will get you kicked from the chat.

The Goonies is a timeless movie in my opinion. I’m sure nostalgia plays a part in that but whatever. I f*cking love this movie! The cast, the writing, the characters, the story… Everything about this movie is damn near perfect if you ask me. This was one of the movies that affected a lot of schmoes like myself as kids and helped makes us the movie fans we are today.
