The enigmatic producer Adi Shankar (LONE SURVIVOR, DREDD) took it upon himself to create this "bootleg Dredd" cartoon. As he has previously stated, this product is not endorsed by those who own the rights to Judge Dredd, so it was a project of passion. Heavily influenced by the MTV cartoons of yesteryear, the whole mini-series is now online to view.

I actually settled into the animation style quite nicely after a few minutes. Shankar is obviously a passionate dude and is trying to breathe more life into Dredd. I can't say I was the biggest fan of the Karl Urban vehicle, but I'd absolutely be down with a sequel if they were to go ahead with it. With the first carrying a production budget of $50 million, I'm not sure Kickstarter would quite cover the costs (unless they scale it back even more), so we'll just see what avenue Shankar and Co. go for and if it ever becomes a reality. What I do know is that more Karl Urban in front of the camera is a good thing.
