It seems only yesterday that the Kickstarter for a MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER revival series was underway. It would go on to make almost 6 million dollars, and become the most successful Kickstarter campaign for Film/TV ever (beating out the previous champion, the VERONICA MARS movie). It was then picked up by Netflix for distribution.
However, there was a question of when it was going to premiere. But that's been answered by Netflix on their Facebook page: April 14th of this year. Whoo!
And there was also a new full cast photo, featuring the new hapless human Jonah Ray, Hampton Yount and Baron Vaughn as Crow and Tom Servo, and a new look for Patton Oswalt as TV's Frank, Jr. and Felicia Day as Kinga Forrester, the original Dr. Forrester's daughter:
Looks good to me! No joke, when I was a kid, on Saturday mornings instead of getting up to watch cartoons, my friends and I would watch episodes of MST3k instead. The Master definitely approves.
