BIG HERO 6 has a lot riding on it. Disney needs to prove that it can continue to deliver high caliber animated features outside of Pixar and that movies like FROZEN and WRECK-IT RALPH were not flukes. It also has to weather the fact that it is inspired by a Marvel Comic but cannot use any of that for marketing purposes. The first trailer for the movie looked fun, but it didn't really tell you what it was all about.

The newly released second trailer for BIG HERO 6 is still somewhat vague on who the Kabuki mask-wearing villain is or even what he is after, but we do learn a little more about Hiro Hamada and the robot Baymax that was designed by Hiro's brother. This trailer puts the focus more on the Hamada family and Hiro's quest to remember his brother. But, it also pushes Baymax to the center of the story since his cute and cuddly design is what is going to sell toys.

“Big Hero 6,” an action-packed comedy-adventure about the special bond that develops between Baymax (voice of Scott Adsit), a plus-sized inflatable robot, and prodigy Hiro Hamada (voice of Ryan Potter). When a devastating event befalls the city of San Fransokyo and catapults Hiro into the midst of danger, he turns to Baymax and his close friends adrenaline junkie Go Go Tomago (voice of Jamie Chung), neatnik Wasabi (voice of Damon Wayans Jr.), chemistry whiz Honey Lemon (voice of Genesis Rodriguez) and fanboy Fred (voice of T.J. Miller). Determined to uncover the mystery, Hiro transforms his friends into a band of high-tech heroes called “Big Hero 6.”

The animation here is clearly in the same wheelhouse as FROZEN and TANGLED, but the futuristic city design and Baymax himself feel very influenced by Japanese anime. WINNIE THE POOH director Don Hall and BOLT co-director Chris Williams look to bring a balance of the heart and spirit that made FROZEN such an emotional success along with some nice action sequences to make this movie a fun thrill ride for all ages.

BIG HERO 6 hits theaters on November 7th.
