The Punisher to reload for a second season on Netflix!

Get ready to reload, because Marvel has announced that THE PUNISHER will be getting a second season pickup! The news of the gritty action-thriller's renewal comes less than a month after the show's November 17th debut featuring Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle.

The Punisher was first introduced in the pages of The Amazing Spider-Man #129 (1974). Frank Castle a.k.a. The Punisher, is tortured former soldier who's hellbent on obliterating the criminal underworld responsible for the death of his beloved family. The character made his MCEU debut during the second season of DAREDEVIL, and, with the success of his own solo series, will now go on to punish more ne'er-do-wells in another blood-soaked season of mature superhero television.

When it was first announced that Frank would be getting his own solo series, I found myself doubting whether or not the character was worthy of his own show. Then, upon blazing through the first season of THE PUNISHER, I'd found that I was pleasantly surprised by Frank's extended story. The first season is a slow burn, I'll give you that, though I did think the tale was a compelling one, overall. Hopefully, the second season of THE PUNISHER will feature a bit more carnage than the first, and when you consider the way Frank left things at the close of his debut season, I've got a feeling that shit is about to get very real.
