Avengers: Infinity War - Part 1 Joe Russo Anthony Russo Chris Pratt Banner

Chris Pratt will be back as Star-Lord next year in James Gunn's GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2, but it sounds like he may also appear in one or both of the planned AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR movies. During a conversation with ComicBook.com, directors Anthony and Joe Russo were asked which character they're looking forward to working on with the upcoming films. Anthony Russo's response?

The movies are intended to be a culmination of everything that's happened before in the MCU so you don't want to get into spoilers but I'm a big fan of what James Gunn has done. [Joe Russo and I] are both big fans of what James Gunn has done. Star-Lord is a fantastic character and Chris Pratt is an awesome performer so you'd be very excited.

Joe Russo also went on to confirm that Chris Hemsworth's Thor will be in INFINITY WAR, telling the site that "I'm excited to work with Thor. They're doing some really interesting stuff with Ragnarok and where he's gonna be at the beginning of Infinity War is gonna be a very interesting place and I think very profound. I think he's gonna have a real emotional motivation after that." How do you think Star-Lord and Thor will be used in the next Avengers movies?

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 will arrive in theaters on May 5, 2017, while THOR: RAGNAROK will be released six months later on November 3, 2017, and AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR – PART I is scheduled to open on May 4, 2018.
