How To Train Your Dragon 3 gets official title, new release date

Universal has announced today that when Hiccup, his Night Fury dragon, Toothless, and the rest of their friends come flying back onto the big screen for a third installment of the HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON franchise, the sequel's official title will forever be known as HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON: THE HIDDEN WORLD. In addition to the reveal of the film's title, it has also been announced that the animated fantasy adventure will now take flight on March 1, 2019 as opposed to its previously announced date of May 18, 2018. While the length of the delay is sizable, this only means that the studio will have that much more time to make this the best chapter of the popular film series yet.

When Universal and Dreamworks Animation's HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON: THE HIDDEN WORLD makes it debut, the story will center on Hiccup as he continues to fulfill his dream of creating a peaceful dragon utopia. However, in the midst of all the world-changing, Toothless discovers an untamed, elusive mate that draws the Night Fury away. When danger mounts at home and Hiccup’s reign as village chief is tested, both dragon and rider must make impossible decisions to save their kind.

In related news, Pearl Studio is gearing up to present audiences with EVEREST, an animation that will take moviegoers on 3000-mile journey from Shanghai to the breathtaking Himalayan snowscapes. In the film, a group of misfits encounter a young Yeti named Everest, and they set off to reunite the magical creature with his family on the mountain of his namesake. Directed by Jill Culton (OPEN SEASON, TOY STORY) and Todd Wilderman with a script by William Davies (HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON) and Irena Brignull (THE BOX TROLLS). EVEREST will attempt to scale the box office mountain come September 27, 2019.
