The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus might be up for a lead role in The Crow reboot

Daryl Dixon fans are going to love this news: Schmoes Knows has learned Norman Reedus is a top contender for the role of "James" in Javier Gutierrez's THE CROW. No word on who the character is, but their sources say it is one of the leads. Some sites are claiming Reedus' character will actually become The Crow, however last we knew Luke Evans was still set to play Eric Draven in the reboot. Maybe Luke Evans has dropped out and the character's name has been changed to James, but that announcement hasn't been made, and I'm sticking with Evans as The Crow for now. So who could James be? If the character is one of the leads, maybe he will be the main villain in the film?

The source also has some interesting news on the role of Shelly, Eric Draven's girlfriend. Apparently the producers and studio were looking at Kristen Stewart for the part, but “shied away from the idea after hearing that she wouldn’t attract an audience." I actually wouldn't mind Stewart for Shelly, even though I'm not the biggest fan of the actress. Kristen Stewart isn't a huge draw for some people, but I don't think she would hurt the film's box office potential either. And although the character is important to the story, she probably won't have a lot of screen time in the reboot, if it ends up being anything like the original film.

I'm not against a remake of THE CROW, however I'm also not completely sold on it either. Having the writer of the comics attached to the project makes me feel a little better, but I'm still worried we'll get another terrible movie with the character, and no one wants that.
