The women of M: I 6 are here in new photo from Christopher McQuarrie

The central focus of the MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE movies is placed on Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt, who saves the day by sprinting from location to location and suspending himself thousands of feet above the air. Hunt probably wouldn’t have survived this long though with the seriously badass ladies at his side, and director of MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 6, Christopher McQuarrie, has posted a new pic featuring old and new faces of the series that will show up in Hunt's newest adventure. Girl power indeed!

The director posted the photo on Twitter, and from left to right features newcomers to the series Vanessa Kirby and Angela Bassett (new to the series but missing from the photo is Sian Brooke), followed by returning actresses Rebecca Ferguson (playing Ilsa Faust) and Michelle Monaghan (Julia Meade).

This is the first official look we have at the former two characters, but fans of the series remember Ferguson and Monaghan fondly from M: I 5 and M: I 3 (and kind of 4) respectively. These fine women will join the ranks of other male co-stars, including Crusie, Henry Cavill, Alec Baldwin, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames and Sean Harris.

The director also teased what may be a huge stunt scene in the film, hinted on by an ominous caption:

Today's forecast: Holy shit.

Though I’ll be missing some Paula Patton from this line-up, I think this massive cast as a whole will make for possibly the most epic MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE yet. I’ve been anxious to see how Hunt’s marriage to Meade went south, and perhaps such questions will be answered in this film. My only hope is that things don’t get too crowded, as I want Cruise to have enough time to pull off whatever insane, life-threatening stunt he has planned.

MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 6 arrives July 27, 2018.
