These four new Dawn of the Planet of the Apes posters feature some angry looking primates

With the first trailer for DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES set to drop next week, anticipation is running high that Matt Reeves will be able to capitalize on the excellent RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES. Unlike the classic series of films or even Tim Burton‘s maligned remake, DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES promises to show us the full evolution of Andy Serkis‘ Caesar and his ape cohorts as they become fully intelligent and battle against humanity.

Where the end of RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES showed the animals becoming more thanks to the miracle drug tested on them, DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES looks to give us an all out war movie. The faces here appear to be the apes we saw band together at the end of the first movie: Casear, Koba, and Rocket. Their painted faces hint that their run in with Gary Oldman and Jason Clarke in the new movie will be anything but friendly.

A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.

DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES just bumped it’s release date to July 11, 2014, a prime spot for any Summer blockbuster. Hopefully this movie will surprise us as much as the first one did.
