Things escalate rather quickly in this trailer for Paul Thomas Anderson’s The Master

This is all you get. This is the final trailer for Paul Thomas Anderson’s THE MASTER.

Get ready for a rather intense minute. Things also seem to escalate rather quickly. You know those trailers that give away the entire movie for, well I guess it’s so they can hope to cram in something that you like, this does that in a way that isn’t offensive. It escalates, but only gives you select pieces of the puzzle.

I for one, can’t wait to see this cast turn in some great performances. PTA doesn’t disappoint, and you get a bonus of creepy Philip Seymour Hoffman. Isn’t that the best kind of Hoffman? Except this time he’s disguised as a charismatic fellow with some “interesting” ideas.

THE MASTER is set for wide release on September 21, 2012.

A 1950s-set drama centered on the relationship between a charismatic intellectual known as “the Master” whose faith-based organization begins to catch on in America, and a young drifter who becomes his right-hand man.
