Now that Halloween has come and gone, it's time for major television networks and film executives to start cramming their upcoming Christmas-related content down our holly jolly throats. Thankfully, the new trailer for FX's A CHRISTMAS CAROL, starring Guy Pearce, Andy Serkis, and Stephen Graham, looks to deliver something bold and terrifying this holiday season.

This latest adaptation of Charles Dickens' classic story hails from PEAKY BLINDERS creator Stephen Knight, and will arrive courtesy of the BBC in the U.K. and FX in the United States. Presenting this dark and dread-filled take on the enlightening journey of Ebeneezer Scrooge (Pearce) are FX Productions, Scott Free, and Hardy Son & Baker studio. Meanwhile, Ridley Scott and Tom Hardy will executive produce the three-part special event.

In addition to boasting a plethora of nightmarish visuals, FX's A CHRISTMAS CAROL also features a Murderers' Row of talent. To begin, motion-capture master Andy Serkis will play the Ghost of Christmas Past, while Stephen Graham will star as Jacob Marley. As previously mentioned, Pearce will assume the role of Ebeneezer Scrooge, while Charlotte Riley (IN THE HEART OF THE SEA) is poised to portray Lottie, with Joe Alwyn (THE FAVOURITE) as Bob Cratchit. Also set to appear in Knight's festive fever dream are actors Vinette Robinson (DOCTOR WHO) as Mary Cratchit, Kayvan Novak (WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS) as Ali Baba, Lenny Rush (OLD BOYS) as Tim Cratchit., Jason Flemying (THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON), and the late Rutger Hauer (BLADE RUNNER) as the Ghost of Christmas Future.

Previously, FX President of Original Programming Eric Schrier said the following about A CHRISTMAS CAROL:

We are incredibly proud to join the BBC in this latest creative venture, which builds on our expansive programming partnership to bring the best in television to audiences in the U.S. and U.K Charles Dickens’ classics, including A Christmas Carol, are timeless tales that have been re-imagined generation after generation. We couldn’t imagine a better team to undertake this enormous task than Steven Knight, Tom Hardy, Ridley Scott, and their formidable production companies.

A CHRISTMAS CAROL is set to premiere on FX and BBC One this December on a date yet to be revealed.
