New images and a poster for David Cronenberg’s Maps to the Stars starring John Cusack

A poster and several new images for David Cronenberg's MAPS TO THE STARS have surfaced online, courtesy of Collider and Shock Till You Drop. The director's new film stars John Cusack, Robert Pattinson, Julianne Moore and Mia Wasikowska, and a new synopsis has also been released that reveals some details on the plot for the movie.

Check them out:

Synopsis:

The Weiss family is the archetypical Hollywood dynasty: father Sanford is an analyst and coach, who has made a fortune with his self-help manuals; mother Christina mostly looks after the career of their son Benjie, 13, a child star.

One of Sanford’s clients, Havana, is an actress who dreams of shooting a remake of the movie that made her mother, Clarice, a star in the ’60s. Clarice is dead now and visions of her come to haunt Havana at night. Adding to the toxic mix, Benjie has just come off a rehab program he joined when he was 9 and his sister, Agatha, has recently been released from a sanatorium where she was treated for criminal pyromania…

I didn't love David Cronenberg's last film (COSMOPOLIS), but I still enjoyed it and I'll check out anything by the talented director. MAPS TO THE STARS sounds like it could be a pretty f*cked up movie (especially with David Cronenberg behind the camera), and I'm very excited to see Julianne Moore and John Cusack in Cronenberg's latest project.

MAPS TO THE STARS doesn't have a release date, but it should be in theaters sometime in 2014.
