Universal is into Dirty Grandpas

Anyone up for a film about a dirty grandpa? Well, it’s coming.

Universal is has picked up DIRTY GRANDPA, a comedy script from John Phillips with Barry Josephson producing. Phillips is a New York-based writer/performer from the Upright Citizens Brigade theatre. This is his first script.

A film about a dirty grandpa is pretty self explanatory, but there are other elements involved. The script is, “an R-rated comedy centered on a recently widowed, sexually aggressive grandfather on a road trip with his straight-laced grandson.” Grandpa also intervenes when he realizes his grandson is going to marry a girl who is not right for him.

There are so many choices out there when it comes to finding a dirty grandpa. Alan Arkin? Gene Hackman? Maybe James Woods? Richard Jenkins? Just throwing some names out there.
